What changed and why

The previous Curb formula was built around glucomannan as its primary ingredient. The new formula takes a completely different approach - addressing the hormonal and neurological roots of cravings and blood sugar instability during menopause, rather than simply creating a feeling of fullness.

What's in the new formula

Myo-Inositol

A naturally occurring compound found in fruits, grains and legumes. It plays a role in insulin signalling — how effectively your cells respond to insulin — which becomes increasingly relevant during menopause as oestrogen's protective effect on blood sugar regulation declines. Research in post-menopausal women with metabolic syndrome has shown improvements in blood glucose, insulin resistance and lipid markers. Myo-Inositol also influences serotonin pathways, which may support mood and emotional balance during hormonal shifts.

L-Theanine

An amino acid found naturally in green and black tea. It crosses the blood-brain barrier and supports the neurotransmitters involved in relaxation, mood and sleep — specifically serotonin, dopamine and GABA. Clinical evidence suggests L-Theanine can reduce physiological stress markers and improve mood stability. In studies of post-menopausal women specifically, it reduced sympathetic nervous system activity and enhanced parasympathetic activity — supporting the calm, settled feeling that makes consistent food choices easier. It does not cause drowsiness.

Vitamin B6

An essential B vitamin with a specific and authorised role in psychological function and the regulation of hormonal activity. B6 supports serotonin and dopamine production — neurotransmitters directly affected by the hormonal changes of menopause and closely linked to mood, appetite and sleep. Chromium Picolinate

Chromium is a trace mineral that plays a role in how the body uses insulin to process carbohydrates and fats. As oestrogen declines during menopause, insulin sensitivity commonly decreases — contributing to blood sugar instability, energy crashes and carbohydrate cravings. A double-blind placebo-controlled trial in overweight women with carbohydrate cravings found chromium picolinate reduced food intake and appetite over eight weeks. It has an authorised EU/UK health claim for contributing to normal macronutrient metabolism and to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels

How to take it

Simpler than the previous formula. Two capsules a day instead of three.

The new formula takes a different approach, supporting blood sugar stability and mood through Myo-Inositol, L-Theanine, Vitamin B6 and Chromium. It is also simpler to take; two capsules per day instead of three.

Yes. Curb is designed to be taken alongside Advanced Plus as part of the full Menopause Diet programme. Both products contain Chromium Picolinate. The combined daily chromium from both products remains within normal supplemental ranges and within safe limits. If you have any concerns about combined supplementation please speak with your GP or pharmacist.

Yes. Curb is compatible with all forms of HRT. As with any new supplement, we recommend mentioning it to your GP or pharmacist if you are on any prescription medication.
